Answering a Prayer at New Beulah Missionary Baptist Church
One of the most meaningful projects in K.L. Smith Roofing’s history was for New Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Lakeland.
For years, the church’s aging roof had deteriorated, allowing water to leak into the sanctuary. The problem became significantly worse after Hurricane Milton, when heavy rains caused extensive water intrusion and flooded portions of the church. The congregation had faithfully raised money toward repairs, but a complete roof replacement remained beyond their financial reach.
When James Middleton of K.L. Smith Roofing inspected the roof, it became clear that patchwork repairs were no longer enough. The church needed an entirely new roofing system.
Instead of simply providing an estimate, our team made a different decision.
We donated the roof.
K.L. Smith Roofing provided a new roof, along with replacing damaged plywood decking as needed, ensuring the building would once again provide a safe place for worship, fellowship, and ministry.
For us, this project wasn’t about publicity.
It was about recognizing that churches like New Beulah do far more than hold Sunday services. They provide hope during difficult times, bring families together, support those in need, and serve as a cornerstone of the Lakeland community.
Protecting that mission was one small way we could give back.
Projects like this remind us that roofing isn’t just about shingles and nails.
It’s about protecting the places where life’s most important moments happen.
Investing in the Communities We Serve
As a family-owned, veteran-founded roofing company, K.L. Smith Roofing believes success should be measured by more than the number of roofs installed.
Over the years, we’ve been honored to:
- Donate multiple roofs to veterans in need
- Donate a roof to New Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Lakeland
- Support local families throughout Polk County during difficult times
- Continue looking for opportunities to give back to the community that has supported us for more than 50 years
Whether we’re replacing a homeowner’s roof after a storm or donating one to someone who truly needs it, every project is completed with the same commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and care.
